Maybe today is the day to...

plan your food shopping for the week, choose the meals you'll make and shop accordingly. Also, it's always a good idea to leave one day with no plans - usually something comes up. It might take a while to get the hang of it, but feels really good to be more organized, efficient and waste less food. This might work better if you're the planning kind.
